Hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Concomitant administration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors is contraindicated for up to 14 days after discontinuation of use.
It is contraindicated to administer concomitantly with pimozide (an antipsychotic) or with thioridazine.

First dose: 20 mg orally each day.
May increase by 10 mg/day every week not to exceed 50 mg/day.

May increase by 10 mg/day every week not to exceed 60 mg/day.
panic disorder
First dose: 10 mg orally every day.
May increase by 10 mg/day every week not to exceed 60 mg/day.

First dose: 20 mg orally each day.

Post-traumatic stress disorder:

First dose: 12.5 mg orally every day.
