ACTIVE-INGREDIENT OF PANTOLOC 40MG 14TAB
EACH TABLET CONTAINS : pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate 45.1 mg equivalent to pantoprazole 40 mg .
INDICATION OF PANTOLOC 40MG 14TAB
moderate and severe reflux oesophagitis . In combination with two appropriate antibiotics for the eradication of H. pylori in patients with peptic ulcers with the objective of reducing the recurrence of duodenal and gastric ulcers caused by this microorganism . duodenal ulcer . gastric ulcer . zollinger-ellison syndrome and other pathological hypersecretory conditions .

The recommended dose is : –
pantoloc tablets should not be chewede or crushed , and should be swallowed whole with water 1 hour before breakfast . Recommended adults and adolescents 12 years of age and above : 1- treatment of moderate and severe rreflux oesophagitis one tablet of pantoloc 40 mg per day . if there is no response , the dose may be doubled ( increase to 2 tablets pantoloc daily ) . duration of therapy : a 4 week period is usually enough for the treatment of reflux oesophagitis . if this is not sufficient , in individual cases , healing will usually be achieved within a further 4 weeks . 2- eradication of H. pylori in combination with two appropriate antibiotics in helicobacter pylori positive patients with gastric and duedenal ulcers , eradication of the germ by a combinatioN THERAPY SHOULD BE ACHIEVED . DEPENDING upon the resistance pattern ( ACCORDING OF OFFICIAL LOCAL GUIDANCE e.g. the national recommendations regarding bacterial resistance ) , the following combinations can be recommended for the eradixcation of H . pylori :A) pantoloc 40 mg 1 tablet twice daily + amoxicillin 1000 mg twice daiy + clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily . B) pantoloc 40 mg 1 tablet twice daily + metronidazole 400 -500 mg twice daily + clarithromycin 250 -500 mg twice daily . C) pantoloc 40 mg 1 tablet twice daily + amoxicillin 1000 mg twice daily + metronidazole 400-500 mg twice daily . in eradication of H. pylori the second pantoprazole tablet should be taken before the evening meal . the combination therapy is implemented for 7 days in general and can be prolonged to up to two weeks maximum . to ensure healing of the ulcer . further treatment with pantoloc alone is indicatede , considering the dosaGE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DUODENAL AND GASTREIC ULCERS ( below ) . in helicobacter pylori negative patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers , the following dosage guifdlines apply for pantoloc monotherapy : 3- treatment of gastric ulcer pantoloc one 40 mg tablet per day . if there is no response , in individual cases , the dose may be doubled ( increased to 2 tablets daily ) . gastric ulcers genetrally heal within a 4-week period . if this not sufficient , healing will usually be achieved within a furthewr 4 weekis . 4- treatment of duodenal ulcer pantoloc one 40 mg tablet day . if there is no response , in individual cases , the dose may be doubled ( increased to 2 tablets daily ) n. duodenal ulcer generally heals within 2 weeks . if this is not sufficient , healing will be acjieved in almost all cases within a further 2 weeks . 5- zollinger – ellison syndrome and other pathological hypersecretory conditions for the long term management of such conditions treatment should be started with a daily dose of 80 mg ( 2 tablets of pantoloc 40 mg ) . thereafter , the dosage can be titrated up or down as needeed using measurements of gastric acid secretion to guide . with doses above 80 mg daily , the dose should be divided and given twice daily . a temporary increase of the dosage above 160 mg pantoprazole is possible but should not be applied longer than required for adequate acid control . treatmenty duration in zollinger – ellison syndrome and other pathological hypersecretory conditions is not limited and should be adapted according to clinical needs . children below 12 years of age : pantoprazole is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age due to limited data in this age group . special populations : in patients with severe liver impairment the dose has to be reduced to 1 tablet ( 40 mg pantoloc ) every other day . furthermore , in these patients liver enzymes should be monitored during pantoprazole therapy . in case of a rise of the liver enzymes pantoloc should be discontinued . in patients withimpaired renal function the daily dose 1 tablet ( 40 mg pantoloc ) should not be exceded . in elderly patients the daily dose of 1 tablet ( n40 mg pantoloc ) should not be exceeded . an exception is combination therapy for eradication of H.py;ori , where the usual pantoloc dose is ( 2 tablets 40 mg /daY ) FOR ONLY ONE WEEK TREATMENT .
OVER-DOSAGE OF PANTOLOC 40MG 14TAB
there are no known symptoms of voverdose . Doses up to 240 mg intravenous were administered over 2 minutes and were well tolerated . As pantoprazole is extensively protein bound , it is not readly dialyzable . In the case of overdose with clinical signs of intoxication , the usual rules of intoxication therapy apply .
CONTRA-INDICATION OF PANTOLOC 40MG 14TAB
HYPERSENSITIVITY to the active ingredient or any of the excipients in pantoloc tablets . Pantoprazole ( pantoloc ) must not be used in combination treatment for eradication of H. Pylori in patients with moderate hepatic or renal dysfunction since currently no data are availabe on the efficacy and safety of pantoprazole , like other PPIs , should not be co-adminestrated with atazanavir .
