ACTIVE-INGREDIENT OF Ibidroxil 1gm tablets
Each coated tablet contains Cefdroxil monohydrate 1 gm equivalent to 1 gm Cefadroxil.
INDICATION OF Ibidroxil 1gm tablets
For the treatment of the following infections when due to susceptible microorganisms: – upper and lower respiratory tract infections. – skin and soft tissue infections. – urinary tract infections. – other infections: osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.
DOSAGE OF Ibidroxil 1gm tablets

The recommended dose is : –
Cefadroxil monohydrate is acid stable and may be administrated orally without regard to meals. Administration with food may be helpful in diminishing potential gastrointestinal complaints occassionally associated with oral cephalosporin therapy. Route of Adiministration: For oral use. Adults: Urinary tract infections: For uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections (i.e.,cystitis) the usual dosage is 1 or 2 gm per day in a single dose or in two equally divided doses. For all other urinary tract infections the usual dosage is 2 g per day in two equally divided doses. Skin and skin structure infections: For skin and skin structure infections the usual dosage is 1 g per day in a single dose or in two equally divided doses. Pharyngititis and tonsillitis: For Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis, the usual dosage is 1 g per day in a single dose or in two equally divided doses for 10 days. Upper and lower respiratory tract infections: For mild infections the usual dosage is 1 g per day in two equally divided doses. For moderate to severe infections the recommended dosage is 1 g to 2 gm daily in two equally divided doses. Children: The recommended dosage for children is 25 to 50 mg/kg/day in two equally divided doses(every 12 hours) as indicated. For pharyngitis, tonsillitis and impetigo the recommended daily dosage may be administerated as a single dose or in two equally divided doses (every 12 hours) Elderly : No specific doasage recommendations for precautions for use in the elderly except monitoring of patients with impaired renal function. Renal impairment : In patients with renal insufficiency ( creatinine clearance / = 200 Initial dose is 1 g Maintainance dose is 500 mg Administration interval 36 hours. Clinic trials with 5 anuric patients have shown that after an oral dosage of 1 g approximately 63% of the dose will be excreted during hemodialysis of 6 to 8 hours.
OVER-DOSAGE OF Ibidroxil 1gm tablets
Symptoms and signs : Overdose may intensify the adverse effects, esprcially in patients prone to gastrointestinal disorders. Treatment : No antidote exists and treatment should be symptomatic. For absorption of quantitis greater than 250 mg/kg. It is recommended to perform emesis induction.
CONTRA-INDICATION OF Ibidroxil 1gm tablets
Cefadroxil is contraindicated in : Hypersensitivity to cefadroxil, to any of the excipents of the medicinal product or to beta-lactam antibiotics.
