ACTIVE-INGREDIENT OF EPIGONAL 75 MG 1 AMP

each lyophilized ampoule contains : follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH ) 75 IU activity . Luteinizing hormone ( LH ) 75 IU activity . Each ampoule of solvent contains : 1 ml of sterile saline .

INDICATION OF EPIGONAL 75 MG 1 AMP

women : epigonal , followed by hCG – ( epifasi ) is given for induction of ovulation and pregnancy in anvulatory infertility in whom the cause is functional and is not due to primarly ovarian failure . Men : epigonal , and concomitant hCG – (epifasi ) , are given for stimulation of spermatogenesis in men with primary or secondary hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism .

The recommended dose is : –

individualize dosage . Anovulation (women ) : initially , epigonal 1 ampoule /day given I.M . For 7-12 days , followed by 5000 -10000 iu of HCG -( epifasi ) given i.m ., 1 day after the last dose of epigonal . Treat the pastient until indices of estrogenic activity (estimated by measuring serum of urinary estrogen levels and sonographic visualization of the ovaries ) are equivalent to or greater than those of the normal individual . this generally occurs by the eighth or twelfth day . in the patient does not reported to 12 days of epigonal administration , generally to response can be expected and therapy should be discontinued .

OVER-DOSAGE OF EPIGONAL 75 MG 1 AMP

CONTRA-INDICATION OF EPIGONAL 75 MG 1 AMP

hypersensitivity to the drug . Women : pregnancy ( category x ) . High gonadotrophin level indicating primary ovarian failure , overt thyroid and adrenal dysfunction . Any cause of infertiliy other than anovulation . Abnormal bleeding of undetermined origin . ovarian cysts or enlargment not caused by polycystic ovary syndrome . organic intracranial lesion such as pituitary tumour . men : normal gonadotrophin levels indicating normal pituitary function . elvated gonatrophin levels indicating primary testicular failure . infertiliy disorders other than hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism .
