ACTIVE-INGREDIENT OF BENDAX TAB
Each film-coated tablet contains : Albendazole 200 mg .
INDICATION OF BENDAX TAB
Single dose or short term courses of Bendax is indicated for treatment of single or mixed infestations of intestinal and tissue parasites, in adults and children over 2 years of age. Bendax is effective in the treatment of intestinal infections caused by: – Ascaris Lumbricoides (round worm) – Enterobius vermicularis (pin worm) – Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus ( hook worm) – Trichuris trichiuria ( whip worm ) – Strongyloides stercolaris ( thread worm ) – Teania solium ( pork tape worm ) – Hymenolepis nana 9 dwarf tape worm ) – Animal hook worm larvae causing cutaneous larvae migrans. – liver flukes Opisthorchis viverrini and Clonorchis sinensis. Bendax is indicated for treatment of tissue infections: Neurocysticercosis. Bendax is indicated for treatment of parenchymal neurocysticercosis due to active lesions caused by larval forms of the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium. lesions considered responsive to albendazole therapy appear as a non- enhancing cysts with no surrounding edema on contrast-enhanced computerized tomography. – Hydatid Disease ( Cystic Echinococcosis): Bendax is indicated for the treatment of cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, caused by the larval form of the dog tapeworm , Echinococcus granulosus. note: the efficacy of albendazole in the therapy of alveolar hydatid disease caused by echinococcus multilocularis has not been clearly demonstrated in clinical studies .
DOSAGE OF BENDAX TAB

The recommended dose is : –
For treatment for intestinal parasites: In adults and children over 2 years . – Enterobiasis, Ancylostomiasis, Ascariasis, Necator americanus infections and Trichuriasis: 400 mg ( 2 tablets ) as single dose on empty stomach . Suspected or confirmed Strongyloides stercoralis infestation : 400 mg once daily . taken on an empty stmach for three consecutive days. patients should then be appropriately followed for at least 2 weeks to confirm cure. Cutaneous larvae migrans: 400 mg once daily, taken with food for one to three days. Suspected or confirmed Taenia spp. or Hymenolepis nana infestation, when other susceptible heliminths species are present: 400 mg once daily . taken on an empty stmach for three consecutive days , If the patients is not cured after three weeks, a second course of Bendax treatment is indicated, In cases of proven Hymenolepis nana infestation, retreatment in 10 -21 days is recommended . Mixed worm infestations including Opisthorchis viverrini and Clonorchis sinensis: 400 mg twice a day, taken with food for three days, Patients should be re-examined 1 month after treatment to confirm fluke eradication. For treatment for tissue infections: Bendax should be taken with meals. Eperience in children under of 6 years of age and in patients 65 years of age or older is limited. Neurocysticercosis dose : – Patient’s weight >/= 60 kg : 400 mg ( 2 tablets ) twice daily, with meals. Patient’s weight /= 60 kg : 400 mg (2tablets ) twice daily, with meals. CONTRA-INDICATION OF BENDAX TAB
Bendax is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the benzimidazole class of compounds including Albendazole or any of the drug components.

Store in a dry place at temperature not exceeding 30 °C
