Dandruff – It is that dry white scales of the skin. Dandruff is not related to your hair or how often you wash it. Rather, it has to do with the nature of the scalp.

The cortex is made up of skin cells that grow and die very quickly. Exactly why this happens is not clear. A common fungus called Malassezia may contribute to dandruff. This fungus lives on the scalp of most healthy adults without causing any problems. One theory is that the immune system of a person with dandruff may overreact to the fungus.

Dandruff can get worse when you’re stressed or sick. Cold, dry winters can trigger dandruff or make it worse, too.

One common cause is seborrheic dermatitis, or seborrhea. Some people with dandruff may also have seborrheic dermatitis on other areas of the body, such as their ears, the middle of the face, and the center of the chest.

Moisturization

Keeping the scalp moisturized is crucial. When your skin is dry, the nutrients that contribute to healthy skin cannot move. Moisture allows nutrients to circulate freely to help protect and nourish the scalp.

Antimicrobials

Dandruff can be caused by fungi and bacteria. Some of the most popular anti-dandruff shampoos contain synthetic and chemical antifungals and antibacterial. Fortunately, there are natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agents that can be safely applied to the scalp.

Scalp Soothing Agents

Itchy scalp can worsen until it becomes painful and embarrassing. It is important to use a natural skin-soothing ingredient and is an important part of any good scalp treatment.  Vichy ultra soothing Shampoo

Here are some general tips and home remedies to get rid of dandruff

Itching and flaking caused by dandruff can always be controlled. For mild dandruff, first try daily cleansing with a gentle shampoo to reduce oil and skin cell buildup. If that doesn’t help, try using a medicated shampoo to treat dandruff. You may need to try more than one shampoo to find a hair care routine that works for you. And you’ll likely need frequent or long-term treatment.

If you develop itching or redness from any product, stop using it. If you develop an allergic reaction — such as a rash, hives, or difficulty breathing — seek medical attention immediately.

Read and follow the directions on each shampoo bottle. Some products should be left on for a few minutes, while others should be rinsed off quickly. Initially, use medicated shampoo one to three times a week to treat dandruff. Then reduce to once a week or less frequently for maintenance and prevention.

If you’ve been using medicated shampoo regularly for several weeks and still have dandruff, talk to your doctor or dermatologist. You may need a strong prescription shampoo or steroid lotion.

Stress affects your overall health, leaving you vulnerable to a number of conditions and diseases. It can even help trigger dandruff or worsen existing symptoms.

Follow a healthy diet. A diet that provides enough zinc, B vitamins and certain types of fats may help prevent dandruff.
Use shampoo most of the time. If your scalp is oily, daily shampooing may help prevent dandruff. Gently massage your scalp to break up dandruff. Rinse well.

Get some sun. Sunlight may be helpful in controlling dandruff. But since exposure to UV rays damages your skin and increases the risk of skin cancer, don’t sunbathe. Instead, just spend a little time outdoors. And be sure to put sunscreen on your face and body.

Limit hair styling products. Styling products can build up on your hair and scalp, making it greasy.

Tea tree oil, which comes from the leaves of the Australian tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), has been used for centuries as an antiseptic, antibiotic, and antifungal agent. It is now included in a number of shampoos on the market. The oil may cause allergic reactions in some people.

Pharmaceris H Purin Oily Scalp Shampoo  contains tea tree oil extract in addition to:

What makes you susceptible to dandruff?

Almost anyone can get dandruff, but certain factors can make you more likely to get it:

Age. Dandruff usually begins in adulthood and continues into middle age. This does not mean that older people do not get dandruff. For some people, the problem can last a lifetime.
It appears more in men than in women. As more men suffer from dandruff, some researchers think male hormones may play a role.
certain diseases.

Parkinson’s disease and other diseases that affect the nervous system appear to increase the risk of dandruff. The same applies to HIV infection or a weak immune system.
